COLOR

I love swatching complex inks. There is a lot happening with Snowy Mountain Sunset, and swatches are so beautiful. It is a lovely powder pink-lavender that chromashades into a blue-teal.

The gold-champagne shimmer goes along with the pink-teal color very well!

CHARACTER

There is so much shimmer in this ink. The gold shimmer is almost overwhelming at times. Shimmer doesn't show up well on scanned images, but look below for a photo of this insane shimmer when angled into the light!

I really am fascinated by chromashaders, so I wish there was more teal present in more than just the swatches. I feel like it takes so much ink on the page to hit the teal shading that it's just more opportunity for shimmer to hit the page.

My goodness that's a lot of shimmer!

CONSISTENCY

It's probably not a surprise that this ink is a bit prone to clogging up pens with all the shimmer. It is absolutely ridiculous but also very pretty. I recommend using this in a very wet pen, and also keeping a brass shim on hand to floss the tines and attempt to de-clog on a regular basis.

I'm not sure if the ink flow itself is a bit on the drier side, or if that is just the restriction from the ever-impending clog, but it was a bit of a struggle to get ink onto the page.

CONCLUSION

This is not an ink for the faint of heart. If you live for shimmer, it definitely delivers that and more. However, it comes with all of the concerns usually associated with shimmer. Use it in a dip pen, or wait a few minutes after agitating the bottle to allow most of the shimmer to settle before drawing in the ink, and you might have an easier time with it. On the upside, as someone who doesn't generally prefer pink/pastel colors, I really like how this looks on the page!
