COLOR
Private Reserve Ultra Black is a neutral, slightly cool-leaning black with a low bronze sheen.

CHARACTER

For an ink named Ultra Black, this ink is dry enough that it can come off as lighter just because less ink is on the page. On the upside, it does have a fast dry time! No shading was noted, and sheen only appears when a lot of ink is on the page.
CONSISTENCY

This is a fairly dry ink. This is an ink specifically marked as a 'fast dry' formula, and I would have to agree. It behaves really well on most papers and is one of the safer inks I've tried on cheap papers.

CONCLUSION
I did have some struggles initially with Ultra Black as I was not expecting how dry it would be. Depending on the pen and paper involved, drier strokes can be less of a bold 'ultra' black and more of a dark gray. However, it definitely is a faster drying ink, and that does have its benefits!
