COLOR

Sherwood Green is a beautiful deep green. It leans ever so slightly toward the teal end of the spectrum - so subtle that it's not really noticeable until you put it next to other greens. It's a cooler tone than Robert Oster Mistletoe, but not as teal as Monteverde California Teal.

CHARACTER
ree

I love the range of tones on this ink. It shades really nicely between a bright green and darker green, with a splash of red-pink sheen on most papers.

It can be quite the sheen-y ink on a lot of papers. I was surprised at how much sheen I was seeing. It tends to be a very balanced sheen - enough that it's present, but not so much that it eclipses the actual color of the ink.

CONSISTENCY

Private Reserve released this ink in their Fast Dry line. Knowing how persnickety some sheeny inks are, I was a bit untrusting of the 'fast dry' claims. It's not the fastest-drying ink out there, but it does okay!

This ink does have some issues with bleedthrough on some papers, but for the most part it worked fine for me.

CONCLUSION

It amazes me how subtle little differences can stand out in an ink. I thought that this ink would be a true clone to at least one other foresty green in my collection, but it isn't! I'll have to experiment more to see what I think of the 'fast dry' claim, but it's definitely a solid green ink.
