COLOR
Iroshizuku Kiri-same is a warm-toned medium gray ink. On some papers the warm tones shift this to more of a desaturated brown, while in others it looks closer to graphite gray. The name translates to 'Autumn Showers' and that seems very appropriate!
It's hard to sort this ink based on swatch color due to its nature. I tend to think of it as a gray ink when writing, but when compared to a lot of my other gray inks, it is very much brownish.

CHARACTER

I really appreciate the look of a written page in gray ink. It gives me a bit of a throwback to taking notes in pencil, but with the extra character that writing in ink brings.
This ink shows a degree of shading - it's not so pronounced that I would consider it a defining feature, but enough that it has some variation.
CONSISTENCY

This is a medium-wet ink that behaves very well! It did show feathering on cheap paper, but for others it behaved well and had very minimal ghosting or bleedthrough. It's a good journaling ink if you intend to use both sides of the page.

CONCLUSION
The warm tones of this gray took me off guard at first - when I think of gray, I tend to think of ones with more of a blue shift for some reason. However, it has grown on me! It's sometimes a bit of a surprise to see what papers bring out more of the reddish brown tones.
