COLOR

Mango Mousse is a bright yellow-orange that definitely pulls in the essence of 'mango'. It appears more orange the more ink is allowed to dry on the page, giving it a very pretty color variation. The colors shift from a bright sunny yellow to a macaroni-orange to almost reaching a red-orange. It is surprisingly legible at medium range, but at farther distances it is definitely a struggle.

CHARACTER

Shading is the true magic of this ink. It is nice to have a lighter ink that I still find fun to write with and read afterwards. The shading is dramatic on all paper types.

In writing the yellow tones come across as the most predominant, which is why I categorize this as a yellow ink. It could certainly be sorted as orange ink instead. It's right on the margin between the two colors!

After seeing how this ink feathered like crazy in swatches and when using a dip pen, I really expected this ink to perform badly. However, in practice it was great! It is a wet enough ink to get a lot of color variation in a fine nib, but I did not see any feathering when writing normally.

CONCLUSION

Bright, light colors are always tricky for me. I love the color, and I love experimenting with them, but it's not as often that I reach for them when I'm just wanting to write. For all of the concerns that I had with this ink, however, I found myself having a lot of fun with it!
