COLOR
Monarca Cardona is a vibrant red-burgundy with a slight bright red-violet undertone.

CHARACTER

Cardona effortlessly shows a striking gold-green sheen. It is also packed with a gold shimmer.
This ink is also surprisingly good at shading when it's not being overwhelmed with sheen. The shading highlights the red-violet tones even more.
CONSISTENCY

This ink is fairly wet and it's easy to get enough ink onto the page to see regular sheening. It does have a slight tendency to dry out in the nib if not used regularly, and I had a few hard starts. This ink also didn't bleed through as often as I would have expected, which was amazing to me.

CONCLUSION
Gold sheen on red-violet ink looks very fancy. Often this ink is sheening so much that the shimmer doesn't even get a chance to peek through. When it does, it looks even better! I also really like the wooden ink holder that are included with Monarca inks. The ink bottles are thin, with a narrow aperture, so the wide wood base is definitely appreciated and help prevent disaster.
