COLOR
Birmingham Sandstone is a lovely sandy brown-sepia color with some warmer tones contrasting with some subtle green shift. It's a fairly complicated color with a lot of charm.
I really enjoy the simple yet complex nature of this ink. From a distance, it just reads as a standard sepia-ish brown. Close up, you can really enjoy the extra color variation.

CHARACTER

I love the shading on Sandstone. It shades very nicely, and the shading pulls out more of the red-brown colors in this ink.
There is absolutely no sheening present.
CONSISTENCY

This ink is on the wetter end for flow. Unfortunately, it is also prone to feathering. On the one hand, it makes for a smoother writing experience. On the other hand, if you don't carefully select your paper, the feathering renders everything annoyingly illegible.

CONCLUSION
Sandstone is one of my favorite browns, even with its flaws. I really like how it's a great sepia. It oddy presents an issue in that it's hard to get this color accurately captured on the scanner. For whatever reason, scans bring in more cool tones that I just don't see in person.
