COLOR
Teal is one of those colors that always catch my eye, and this is a great teal. It is saturated enough to pop off the page as well as flash with some bright pink sheen, but it is still well behaved and shows some delightful shading.
In some lighting it seems to lean more green, and in others more blue. Paper can also really affect the color - cheaper papers bring out more green tones compared to premium papers.

CHARACTER

I really love the deep, bright pink sheen in this ink. It's present on many papers, but not so much that it overwhelms the teal.
The shading isn't as apparent in an extra-fine nib, but it's there! It adds a lovely variation to writing. I really like the tri-tone effect of a shading/sheening ink.
CONSISTENCY

Bluegrass Velvet is a moderately wet ink. It behaves decently on premium papers, but it does feather pretty spectacularly on cheap notebook paper. Bleedthrough is also pretty dramatic on cheap paper.
Shading is limited to nicer paper such as Tomoe River and Rhodia. Similarly, sheening is most noticeable on Tomoe River.

CONCLUSION
I have a number of teals, but this is one I tend to reach for fairly often. It is bright, legibile, and fairly well behaved on most papers. It is a very happy color! This was one of my first Ferris Wheel Press inks. I really like the presentation of their bottles and boxes, though I debate with myself whether the novelty of the bottle is worth the extra cost of the ink when there are other brands with similar teals for much cheaper.
Ferris Wheel Press Bluegrass Velvet is currently out of stock on the Ferris Wheel Press website, but is available at many other stationary retailers.
