COLOR
I will admit, when I first think of blueberry muffins, this is not the color that comes to mind. I think my mind first thinks of blueberries and expects a more blue-leaning color, but after baking some muffins the other day I realized that this is very similar to the color the blueberry juice dyes the pastry itself.
This is a nice medium burgundy with a good mix of red and purple.

CHARACTER

This is a standard dye ink. It has a moderate amount of shading, but otherwise behaves as expected.
It has no sheen, even when a lot of ink is left on the page. This allows the true color to be pretty consistent across the page - it's rather nice to see!
CONSISTENCY

This ink tends to feather more than I would like. It also is pretty dramatic when it does bleed through the page. It is very legible, but paper choice is very important.
I was surprised by how much feathering and bleedthrough I experienced with this ink. It's still fine as a journaling ink, but one to be used with caution. I definitely check every paper first before writing with this one!

CONCLUSION
For a relatively inexpensive ink, Monteverde Blueberry Muffin is not a bad ink. I wish that it was not so hit-or-miss when it comes to bleeding and feathering, as that makes me cautious about inking up a pen for everyday use. For intentional journaling on nice paper, it's a fun color. I just can't take it to work and use it on cheap printer paper.
Monteverde Blueberry Muffin was released as part of the Sweet Life series in 2019. Monteverde inks are sold at most stationery distributors.
