VISUAL

Walltown Pens consistently amazes me with their stunning, high quality bespoke pens. I find myself window-shopping their Etsy page on a regular basis. This pen is their 'Lumley' model, featuring a large ink window. The Diamondcast Violet Abalone resin is so beautiful. It is a mix of purples, blues, and peachy-pink-orange. I've seen a variety of abalone-look resin, and this darker version is so striking.
The large ink window is so very nice. I eyedroppered this pen and love the effect of seeing the ink color alongside the resin colors.
I replaced the nib with a red-purple multichrome nib that almost perfectly matches some of the warmer tones in the resin. I love how it looks!
TACTILE
I always appreciate a chunkier pen, and this pen doesn't disappoint in that department. The resin is immaculate and dense, and feels weighty and solid. The cap is only 1.5mm wider than the body. The edge of the cap is slightly sharp, but not so noticeable as to cause an issue.
The section is also comfortably wide. It is a mostly straight section with an incredibly slight flare, and I find it very comfortable to hold.
PRACTICAL

This pen is a joy to look at and to use. It was easy to eyedropper and works reliably. I've had this pen inked for months before with no issue, and rarely if ever have hard starts/nib dryout. When eyedroppered, this pen can hold nearly 4ml of ink. It can still be used with a converter, and the ink window is still useful for converter use as it provides easy viewing either way.
As someone who loves to post, it took me a moment to adjust to this pen not posting. This was one of the first pens that I bought knowing that it didn't post, and it changed my stance on how important posting would be to me. Now I have a large variety of pens that both do and don't post!
The original nib that this pen shipped with was totally fine and worked great - replacing the nib was entirely an aesthetic choice.

There is something special shopping for bespoke pens from independent creators. I love knowing that a skilled person created this pen and hope that I can love it enough to do that artist justice. They also come across as very lovely, passionate people. I highly recommend their pens!
