VISUAL

The Taccia Covenant is a very unique pen. It is a large pen with a comically oversized long cap that covers nearly 90% of the pen when capped. This color, Parchment, is a swirling mix of dark browns and creams. A large band holds a functional clip on the upper side of the cap.
TACTILE
This is a heavy pen. It has a great presence both capped and posted, and unposted it is a lightweight and totally usable pen.
The threads are nicely smoothed and far back on the long section. When posted, the end of the cap creates a large step up. The section is long enough that it's not really that noticeable while writing.
PRACTICAL

The huge cap is the first thing that stands out about this pen. I love it! It's so quirky, and since I like heavy pens it works for me. It screws on to post, so it is very secure. It does backweight the pen slightly. When unposted, the suddenly more lightweight pen is much more evenly balanced.
The 5mm Taccia nib feels undersized for the overall size of this pen. However, I really like how this nib writes. Taccia nibs are made by Sailor, and this nib is one of my favorite 'Sailor' steel nibs. It's a fine but writes like an extra fine, without feeling scratchy.

OVERALL

Very nice nib
Cons:
Barrel threads spin, making unposting a bit tricky if overtightened
Backweighted when posted
Slightly thin grip section
The Taccia Covenant is one of the pens that I picked up on a whim when I saw it on sale, not knowing much about the brand or the particular model. It was such a nice surprise! This is one of my favorite pens in my collection, and I really like how it feels and writes.
