VISUAL

This is an absolutely massive pen, and I completely love it. The combination of blues, browns, and white is unique and really works for me. I also like the copper clip and find that it matches well with the rest of the pen. I can't imagine what pocket would be large enough to warrant using the clip, but I rarely use clips for their intended purpose anyway!

TACTILE

For as large as this pen is, it actually is surprisingly lightweight. The balance is very nice. Additionally, the section is very thick. It's so comfortable when writing!

The curves of the body help distribute the weight of the pen nicely, and it is a pen that makes me happy to hold.

PRACTICAL

This pen is fitted with a Jowo #6 fine, and it writes like a dream. I've used the same shimmer ink in this pen since I've had it, and I've never had any issues clogging. Additionally, it's a very wet writer which is even better for the shimmer.

The cap posts deeply and securely, which does make it absurdly long. I'm not sure if it's a combination of the lighter weight with the huge pen or if is more about where the weight sits, but I actually don't mind using this pen posted. It looks ridiculous to do so, but that's part of the fun!

OVERALL

Pros:

  • Beautiful material with a rather unique color combination

  • Absolutely huge pen that is perfectly weighted

  • Posts securely even if it is hilariously long when posted

Cons:

  • So many threads between the section and body that it takes a long time to unscrew to clean or change inks

  • A bit of a challenge to fit in a pocket, ha!

Peyton Street Pens is primarily a retailer for new and used vintage pens (and they have an amazing selection) but I love browsing their unique/prototype creations. I've been tempted by some of their unique pens that use vintage nibs. This one may 'only' use a Jowo nib, but the color combination and large size made me immediately fall in love with it.

DISCLAIMER: Pens and inks purchased by myself. Photos and opinions are my own.
