VISUAL

The Majohn V1 is a very unique little pen. The most striking visual part of this pen is the giant cap that is nearly as long as the pen itself. The long tube shaped cap features a tiny, adorable, nearly useless clip. I prefer to think of it as a clip-shaped roll stop rather than as a usable feature.
The cap covers a medium-sized vacumatic demonstrator pen. The pen functions well as a demonstrator, and using vibrant inks really shows off their colors!
The base of the pen is also the vacumatic piston knob. It is a heavy metal base engraved with the brand name.
TACTILE
For being a relatively small pen when in use, this pen still has presence. When capped, it has a really satisfying width. Uncapped, it reveals itself as a more medium-sized pen. The metal base does shift the weight more to the back, but not uncomfortably so. I don't feel like I have to fight against it, and it rests nicely on my hand.
Since there are no threads around the section, the grip is nice and smooth. A small metal band acts as a transition strip between the section and the barrel. The plastic material has enough grip that it doesn't feel too slippery.
PRACTICAL

The wide base of the piston knob makes the best feature of this pen its ability to be stood upright on its own. It's a neat feature! When capped, the clip does a decent job acting as a roll stop, but when uncapped, there is nothing to stop this pen from rolling away. I find it easy to just set it on its end on my desk, but I certainly see the risks in doing that too.
I know that I put this nib through quite the test pairing it with a high-shimmer ink, but it kept up pretty well! Out of the box the tines were a bit tight, but it didn't take much effort to get it writing smoothly.
I'm not sure if it needs to be said, but this pen does not post. I was a bit worried that it would feel small and short without the cap, but I don't mind how it feels in the hand.

OVERALL
Pros:
Handy 'vertical free standing' feature!
Budget vacumatic with large capacity
Cons:
Doesn't post
Backweighted
I was concerned that this pen would be a gimmick that was more conceptual than useful, but the more that I used it the more I was surprised by how much I liked it. It's comfortable to use, and even though it's odd, I found myself liking how easy it was to set it vertically on the desk.
