Fountain Pen: Gravitas Pocket

VISUAL

I absolutely love raw metal pens. The Gravitas Pocket pen is great pocket pen that is actually significantly shorter than the Kaweco Sport when capped. The finials are conical, and the cap is mostly circular but has a flattened side of the cap that functions as a great roll stop. This pen is so heavy that I am very grateful for this roll stop - I feel like this pen would be very motivated to test gravity and durability if it didn't have a roll stop.
This pen is also lightly laser engraved with a paisley pattern. With the natural patina over time, this pattern is a little less distinct on the cap, but overall it has stood the test of time!
The metal section is black, which makes the copper stand out even more.
TACTILE
For its diminutive size, this pen is surprisingly heavy. Between the size and the smooth slope of the cap, it is very satisfying to hold. The laser etching is shallow enough that I do not detect the pattern when running a finger over it. I only feel the raw metal texture.
The metal section is very finely ridged. I love how grippy the texture is while also paradoxically feeling smooth. It is a decently long and sloping section, and while the cap threads are close the section is long enough that my fingers do not rest on the threads.
PRACTICAL

I have had no issues with this fine nib. It's a very reliable writer, which also speaks to the quality of the cap seal. I have had this pen inked for months with no rough starts, which always makes me happy.
The cap posts pretty well. When posted, this pen is longer than a Kaweco Sport. The cap is a good portion of the weight of this pen, but it posts deeply enough that it doesn't feel too backweighted. The center of mass is still toward the center of the pen.

OVERALL
Pros:
I absolutely love the look and feel of raw metal pens
Pleasing engraved pattern
Grippy section
Cons:
Pattern fading over time
For those times that a pocket pen is more convenient than carrying a bag for my larger pens, I find myself reaching for this pen over a Kaweco Sport. It is a great size, consistent writer, and it's heavy enough that I don't forget that it's in my pocket before putting my clothes in the hamper!
