Sometimes you have to just have fun with sparkle and pizzazz, and for that I always turn to Benu. Benu makes some of the most amazing, sparkling, glittertastic pens. I love how innovative they are with their resins and shapes.

The Euphoria is a large pen with ten faceted sides. I chose the "Bora Bora", which is an amazing color. It is made from a very shimmery blue-teal resin that shifts to blue-purple in the right angle and light. Interspersed throughout are gaps of clear resin encasing gold and silver foil glitter.

I love the choice to put the larger glitter in sections of clear resin - it adds so much depth and layers of sparkle and really lets the gold and silver punch through with extra effect.

The cap band is a dark black band that contrasts and offsets the extreme color of the rest of the pen. The clip is a simple hinged bar of silver.

TACTILE

This is a decently large pen. It feels very substantial in the hand, and the resin itself feels solid and very nice. The facets are satisfying - the edges are smoothed enough that it doesn't annoy my hand where it rests against my skin.

The section is slightly slippery and a bit sloped, but is decent enough to grip. I have ended up with inky fingers after slipping enough down the section to touch the feed, which isn't the most ideal.

The cap threads are wide and smooth, and far back enough that they aren't even noticed during writing.

PRACTICAL
ree

I am so impressed by this pen and nib when it comes to both writing and reliability. I have kept this pen inked for weeks and it does a better job than even more expensive pens of not drying out or having hard starts. The Schmidt nib is very juicy, which is great because I love putting shimmer inks in this pen.

The Euphoria does post, and posts amazingly well! It is incredibly long when posted, but it doesn't feel particularly backweighted when posting. I really like posting my pens so I do post this one, but I can totally understand that most wouldn't due to the absurd length that it becomes.

OVERALL

Pros:

  • Sparkly goodness is mesmerizing to look at. A great mood boost!

  • For a fine nib, this pen really puts down a lot of ink

  • Reliable posting on a big pen, yay!

Cons:

  • Section is a bit slippery

  • This is a conversation starter when in use. If you're an introvert, just know people will be asking about your pen!

I know that large, glittery pens aren't for everybody. However, if you're even slightly inclined just to have something different in your collection, the Benu Euphoria is an exceptional pen. Of the Benus that I have, this one is by far my favorite due to its looks, its construction, and its reliability.

DISCLAIMER: Pens and inks purchased by myself. Photos and opinions are my own.
